- Reduce buildup of flammable wildland fuels
- Implement road improvements to improve access to Terrace Lakes
- Install additional water sources such as aboveground tanks or dry hydrants in subdivisions
- Establish a cleanup program to reduce hazardous fuels on private property around residences.
- Develop an on-going education and outreach program throughout the assessment area to encourage firewise practices.

- Development of a "comprehensive" plan for the subdivision.
- Development of a needs assessment in order to implement the comprehensive plan.
- Survey of landowners in order to determine how many are willing to participate infuels reduction work.
- Location of appropriate property for fuels reduction demonstration project. Consider use of innovative process/new equipment.
- Determination of cost to individual homeowner for thinning work. Cost can be minimized through in-kind work, however a hard match is required for all grants. Grants typically support $500-800/acre.
